About Battery Bugs
I’ve been building and flying model airplanes since I was in grade school. I started with rubber powered and control line models. I’ve seen a lot of changes in the hobby, the biggest being the electric motors and the lithium polymer batteries that have revitalized the radio control hobby.
Over a short period of time I have somehow managed to collect a considerable amount of these fantastic little batteries and use them all the time. I love being able to charge them and then go flying. One day at the flying field I got distracted and got a discharged battery mixed in with my charged batteries and it almost cost me an airplane. I tried using sticky notes to label and organize my batteries but found the results less than desirable. I had been using Velcro to secure my batteries to my airplanes for a while when one day I got the idea to use some hook Velcro to attach a plastic disc to the loop Velcro that was already on my batteries. Soon I refined my system by using colored plastic discs to visually show the status of each battery. Then I got thinking there must be other hobbyists that would be interested in a simple, quick and visual system to organize and maintain their batteries too. That’s how I cane up with Battery Bugs. Try some today, I think you’ll like the system.
